north ridgeville castle

built : unknown
abandoned : 1982

up until recently, i've heard nothing but urban legends and rumors surrounding this place. the most common one involves a meth dealer living here, and getting busted for having alligators in his moat surrounding the castle. as cool as that sounds, it's apparently far from the truth. just the other day i received an email from a girl named Allyson saying the following:

The castle was built by Dr. Leonard Faymore and his common law wife Dorris. It was about 1/3 of the way done when apperantly he was busted for selling illegal perscriptions. In 1982 he was put in a Wisconsin prison and construction stopped. Dorris tried to sell the place for $300,000.00 in 1985, but never got any buyers. He was eventually released from prison but died shortly there after and the place has been "as is" since the late 80's. Funny thing is that the plans were drawn up on a roll of paper towels with no contractor help. They were planning a 90x35ft bedroom (huge huh?) Also a plan for 6 additional bedrooms, many fireplaces, a swimming pool, a 45 foot tall draw bridge, tunnals to a wine cellar, I mean this place was to be massive!

...and that's pretty much all i know about the place. would've been killer to see it completed.
