The Jaite Paper Mill

The Jaite Paper Mill was built in 1905 by Charles Jaites. The building was built out of blocks made from sand of the Cuyahoga River. It was in use until the mid-80's. It used to produce 8 tons of paper daily.

Some people have said that the building is haunted. I cannot prove or disprove that, but I do know that there is at least one documented death in the building. It was a worker who was killed while operating the fourdrinier machine.

If you're planning on exploring the paper mill, do it soon. Currently (spring of 2006) it's being demolished, but just as a warning for those of you who wanna check it out, you should know that there's a $500 fine for getting caught inside the fence on the property. And I just heard recently that toxic chemicals remain on the property, so looking at it from a legal/health side, it would be wise to stay out.
